Double crochet: dc
Treble crochet: tr
Pattern
Starting Chain: Decide the width of your scarf. Determine the number of sea shell motifs for the width. Each sea shell motif consists of 6 stitches. For example, for 10 sea shell motifs, chain (10 x 6) + 1 = 61 chains.
Row 1: Chain 3 (counts as first dc). Starting from the 4th chain, make 1 dc in each chain across. At the end of the row, chain 3 to turn your work.
Row 2: Make 2 dc in the top of the first dc. Increase every second dc across the row. This will create the width of the scarf. At the end of the row, chain 3 to turn your work.
Sea Shell Pattern:
Chain 5 (counts as first tr).
Make 4 more tr in the same stitch (total of 5 tr).
Skip 2 dc, sc in the next dc.
Skip 2 dc, make 5 tr in the next dc.
Continue this pattern across the row. At the end of the row, chain 3 to turn your work.
Repeat the Pattern: Continue repeating the sea shell motif row until your scarf reaches the desired length. Make sure to keep the motifs even and aligned.
Finishing: Finish the last row with sc. This ensures the edges of the scarf are neat. Cut the yarn and pull through. Weave in the ends on the backside.
Additional Notes
Length: You can adjust the length of your scarf to your preference. Typically, a scarf is about 150-180 cm long.
Color Changes: To make your scarf more colorful, you can change colors between rows. Change colors at the end of a row by introducing the new yarn.
Yarn and Hook Choice: Working with medium thickness yarn and an appropriately sized hook makes it easier to see and control the stitches.
